Ballard

As one of the hippest areas in all of Seattle, Ballard has a rich history.  While the historic neighborhood maintains its Scandinavian working waterfront, a lineup of trendy bars, shops, and restaurants, plus a pedestrian-friendly layout, have helped it transform into one of the city’s hippest hot spots for visitors and locals alike. Because of its wide variety of residents, Ballard has a very unique personality. You can see it all in one spot–Ballard Avenue.

Blue Ridge/North Beach

The Blue Ridge neighborhood of north Seattle has plenty to offer with expansive views of Puget Sound, Carkeek Park and beautiful homes. Bordering another amazing park, Golden Gardens, North Beach is a little less formal than Blue Ridge, but has the same beautiful homes and views. The two neighborhoods are often grouped together as the Blue Ridge/North Beach neighborhood.

Broadview

Tucked in the far northwest corner of Seattle, is the Broadview neighborhood.  Broadview is perched on a slope that overlooks the Puget Sound. Its name is pretty obvious, as many homes have sweeping views of the Puget Sound and Olympic mountains.

Crown Hill

Crown Hill is a little oasis of calm between the busier Ballard and Greenwood. Located just north of Ballard, it has a small-town feel while still being attractive.  It’s a very involved community with constant opportunities to bond with the neighbors. Every year, residents in the neighborhood team up to create a beautiful holiday light display that is a popular sightseeing opportunity.

Fremont

This neighborhood is recognized as the “Center of the Universe,”.  An artsy neighborhood on the north shore of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, it beams with a bohemian vibe and a quirky claim to fame. Home of the famous “troll”, this neighborhood also has a huge variety of different eateries, a brewery, a chocolate factory, and access to one of the best sections of the Burke Gilman. Not to mention, it’s also home to companies like Adobe Systems, Google, and Getty Images.

Green Lake

Way more than just a body of water, Green Lake is buzzing with activity! The people here love to get outside, whether it’s to grab bite to eat or head down to the lake for a walk or run. There isn’t a huge nightlife scene here, although you catch an occasional live band on a Friday night at the local Pub.  In general, the people are friendly and have an early-to-bed, early-to-rise lifestyle.

The area hosts many events that appeal to families and urbanites alike. Things tend to quiet down at night, which makes this the perfect place to live if you like to be on the move during the day and a homebody when the sun goes down.

Haller Lake

The atmosphere in this private little waterfront area varies widely depending on where you are in the neighborhood. On its edges, are the bustling business districts, but, as you head towards the center, the activity fades and quiet residential streets take over. With larger plots of land than other places in the city, residents can spread out a little and enjoy a quiet serene environment.

Loyal Heights

A short jaunt from the organized chaos of Ballard leads you to is the quaint Loyal Heights neighborhood.  Life seems to slow down when you enter here, it’s easy to relax and enjoy the views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Yet, you don’t feel disconnected from the city. The area around 15th Avenue is the busiest, and as you head west and down toward the water, things get more and more calm.

Phinney Ridge

Queen Anne

This neighborhood can really be divided into four smaller ones. Lower Queen Anne backs up to the Seattle Center and is close to all that downtown has to offer. East and West Queen Anne, meet in the middle at the top of the hill, and are both great residential areas with spectacular views. North Queen Anne, which faces Fremont, is home to Seattle Pacific University.
